Comfort Zones, JRP0049

Are you in a Comfort Zone?  Many of us will seek refuge from an increasing chaotic life.  Life throws us many curve balls in relationships, career, health and many other categories.  Often we will retreat to that Comfort Zone.  It may be a place, a state of mind, a bad habit, or just an auto-pilot routine.  But ultimately, it prevents you from personal growth.

It’s difficult to extract yourself from a comfort zone.  Sometimes you can find yourself drifting without realizing you really are stuck.  To get out of it, we need to accept reality, take personal responsibility and then be willing to take a risk and be uncomfortable.  Small steps, journaling and visualization along the way are very helpful.

I share some of my own challenges with leaving a comfort zone.  This podcast is one example of how I am pushing myself to try new things and get into a new zone that is challenging, uncomfortable but exhilarating.

In this episode I also take a moment to reflect on the tragic murder of Jackson Weller, a promising young man, University of New Mexico baseball player and friend of my son Trevor.

I also share my thoughts on a number of other topics and special people including Alex Dickerson, Chris Paddack, Jacob deGrom, Hunter Renfroe, Poway Titans Varsity Baseball, Archie!, Archi Cianfrocco. Social Media Banning, Free Speech, Zuckerberg, Facebook, regulations, cronyism, roadblocks for entrepreneurs, occupational licenses, taxes, school choice, vouchers, President Trump and a Constitutional Crisis.

Closing Quote:

“We have to be honest about what we want and take risks rather than lie to ourselves and make excuses to stay in our comfort zone.” – Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
