PADRES ARE DIFFERENT. Very aligned as a group. Very focused. Very calm. Next man up. Very pro. Mike Shildt is a savant. I was impressed with his press conference praising Tatis for taking pitches with the bases loaded. He was looking for HIS pitch. (He was selfish). That pitch never came despite some questionable strike calls. So he took the walk, moved the line, and got an RBI. Shildt commented on Nick Pivetta’s performance and was asked a question about Pivetta’s mannerisms while pitching. There’s a lot of passion and energy. Shildt commented on presenting positive body language but to be who you are, be authentic. He felt Pivetta was exactly that. He also spoke of Tyler Wade and his value to the team but didn’t want to speak for Tyler even though we knew of their private conversations. Shildt has a presence for sure. Very strong, yet responsible leadership.
TRUMP CUTTING OFF FUNDING TO HARVARD. This story is loaded with Trump bluster and creating enemies amongst “the elite”. It’s a big part of the culture war. But still, it doesn’t make sense for govt to give Harvard (or any other educational institution), even if it is for similar kinds of research. The funny thing though is seeing RWs and LWs argue about taxpayer dollars going to private schools.
RWs oppose govt money to private Higher Ed schools, but want govt money for private K-12 schools.
LWs oppose govt money to private K-12 schools, but want govt money for private Higher Ed schools.
Nuts.
NL WEST IS INSANE. Just based on winning percentage, the Giants would be in first place in any other division in MLB. So would 3rd place Dodgers. Even the 4th place Diamondbacks would be alone or tied for first place in 3-4 other divisions.
