Poway Unified is implementing new curriculum and other policies to combat racism largely due to the efforts of two students, Nene and Ekene Okolo. We discuss the racist incidents that the Okolo sisters and other students experienced at Poway Unified. We share some of the new policies Poway Unified is implementing to address and combat racism in Poway schools. I share my own history with race growing up in the suburbs and experiencing both race and racism as I grew older. I share my discovery of a philosophy that properly showcases the evilness of racism within the greater context of individualism and individual rights. Finally, I comment on some other Poway issues related to race as we get closer to Election Day.
