San Diego Sports Super Fan, David Leland, joined us for an amazing conversation about the teams and personalities in our local sports community. Leland, a Poway resident with a strong social media presence, combined incredible recall of statistics with insightful sports commentary during our conversation.
We had a great time talking about the problems facing the Padres, whether manager Andy Green should get fired, defensive shifts and the trade of Franmil Reyes. We put Leland into the drivers’ seat. As both manager and GM of the Padres and he broke down the moves he would make to improve the team’s performance. David shared his recent experiences visiting Coors Field in Denver and legendary Wrigley Field in Chicago. We also discussed Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium (both new and old), Citi Field in New York and much more.
Then we got into the San Diego Chargers, their move from San Diego, and the motivations and tactics of Dean Spanos during the process. We also touched on San Diego State Aztecs football and their upcoming season starting in a few weeks.
