Steve Dow, Trump and Rancho Bernardo, JRP0163

Steve Dow returns to the John Riley Project to discuss current events, President Trump, and local issues in Rancho Bernardo.  Steve is the author of the book “15 Reasons People Voted for Trump in 2016 and Why These Don’t Apply in 2020”.  We discussed the possibility of a COVID vaccine, the pros and cons of Joe Biden, a long list of issues involving Donald Trump and a preview of the Presidential Debates.  We also discussed Steve’s role as a member of the Rancho Bernardo Community Planning Board.  We covered some of the issues impacting Rancho Bernardo including housing policies, development, and the placement of a medical marijuana facility in the community.  Steve and I shared our experiences as public speakers at Poway Unified School Board meetings and question how well the elected politicians consider feedback from constituents in the community.  I really enjoyed Steve sharing his experience walking the halls of Congress and the Senate in Washington DC passing out his book to elected leaders and their staffs.

We also discuss a range of other people and places including the Lindsay Graham, Kamala Harris, Steve Vaus, Gaby Dow, Jim Jordan, AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Hillary Clinton, mass incarceration, Black Lives Matter, George Floyd, SANDAG, Costco, Sea World, Constitution, Rule of Law, Checks and Balances, Social Security, Poway
